Ingredients
- 3 tbsp. toasted sesame oil
- 3½ lb. beef brisket
- 2 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. fresh ground pepper
- 4 can low-sodium beef broth
- 2 c. dried plums
- ½ c. Worcestershire sauce
- ½ c. low-sodium soy sauce
- 6 clove garlic
- 2 tbsp. finely chopped ginger
- 2 tbsp. dark brown sugar
- 2 tbsp. Apple-Cider Vinegar
- 1 tsp. five-spice powder
- ½ tsp. crushed red pepper
Directions
- Preheat oven to 325 degrees F. Heat the sesame oil in a large Dutch oven over medium-high heat. Season the meat with salt and pepper and brown in the heated oil. Add the remaining ingredients and 2 cups water and bring to a boil. Cover, transfer to the oven, and cook for four hours, turning the brisket once every hour. Serve shredded brisket with cooking liquid.
